Kamala devi's muhaaware

Kamala Devi is well renouned social worker and intellectual personality from Gaya District of Bihar.She is known for preserving the native cultures n traditions of Bihar,specially Magahi samaj.She works for the upliftment of poor and needy.

Here are som,e contributions from her side.
Some lost sayings and lokoktiyan from the Magadh region.

                                         Shrimati Kamala Devi,social worker,Gaya(Bihar)

Very famous magahi boliyan ::-

1.Bhojpur ke Bhoj raja,thug biyahe jaye re;
  toke jame moko thuge,kab gauna kareye re !

The meaning of this lokokti is very deep rooted.You must be aware that during 18th & 19th centuries,the bhojpuri thugs were very notorious n famous for their craft,specially in Benaras region.So when a family seeked a marriage in Bhojpur belt,it is advised to pay extra attention.
It is said that the thugs will say that they are very rich, and the marriage will be fixed.After every gift or dowry is paid;they simply vanish for good.And the girl's parents keep waiting for them for the second marriage of their daughter.In Bihar and Eastern UP brides are not sent to their in-laws house at the time of marriage ,but after second marriage or "Gauna" is held.

When we talk about tourist places near bangalore,the first place which comes in our mind is NANDI Durg,Nandi hills.Recently we visited Nandi hills again.But this time it was a bike ride from Banergatta road to Nandi Durg starting at 4:44 AM on 10th of october 2010.The morning was cool and sky was clear.We were four friends viz Kapil,vijay khemendra and myself.
We took the direct route towards Hudson circle via banergatta road then Diary circle ..Wilson garden ,richmond and took a right turn towards palace road.To our utmost surprise we were not able to find any petrol pumps open at 5 AM in the morning,others which were open were not having petrol.It was strange.Finally we found a pump after an hour's ride on the outskirts of bangalore,way away from the down-town.When we crossed Mekhri circle it started raining.My pillion rider was Kapil and Vijay and khem were riding the Unicorn.i was feeling the chill as i had put on only kurta and pyajama.Rest of the guys were quite comfortable and enjoying the rain.we crossed the newly developed Bangalore international airport(BIAL),and took a turn on left from NH-7,towards Nandi village area.This area is full of frams and grapes for wine is grown alot. Recently Govt. has announced a package of some 77 Billion USD,for the development of this area,including one IIT and a very advanced research institute for engineering.
We took a refrehment break at the foothills of Nandi.It took us 2 hours to reach here.we started again as 10-12 kms were still to finish. watching the hills from this place is amazing.hill tops are wrapped in clouds and mists.you can instantly feel the change in the speed of wind and the scent and aroma of the local vegetation will take your imagination in another world.We took a right turn at the T-junction.one can find good small resturants at this juncton.better to eat here than at the hill top,as its expensive to eat on the top.from here the ride is mesmerizing.fog,mist,rain drops and  a firm sound of wind.we encountered some indian Mekak monkeys sitting on the road.but they are generally nice and friendly.The curves of this road are very dangerous and the bikers are required to take great care while climbing up and down.When we eached at the entrance, there was a long queue of visitors mostly young couples and honeymooners,waiting for the ticket.
